Let’s get moving

Moving more will really help you stay healthier for longer.

It can be gardening, dancing, walking, cycling, taking the stairs, swimming, you name it. You can be active anywhere so long as what you’re doing gets you out of breath.

Set a mini movement goal

A simple mini goal – such as using the toilet on a different floor at work – is the best way to start bringing more movement into your day.

Download our SMARTER goals template to create mini goals that are easier to stick to, so you feel better, every day.

How will being active help my diabetes?

Physical exercise helps lower your blood sugar level, make you feel good and can help you lose weight.

You should aim for 2.5 hours of some kind of activity a week, or build up to 30 minutes a day.

Don’t know where to start?

If you have more than one long term condition and you don’t know what kind of movement is best or safest for you, you may want to meet your local Health trainer.
